Lately

Lately this is how I spend all of my free time (is it really free time if you aren't curled up with a book in front of a warm fire?):

I'm fairly certain that a Starbucks cup is permanently attached to my hand, white mocha with toffee nut syrup extra hot no whip (yes, I am a coffee asshole). I chug coffee as much for the caffeine factor as I do for the warmth. Holy crap it gets cold out there!

Things are just slowing down. Taylor's soccer year is wrapping up with her last game this weekend. She will continue to practice until mid-April and tryouts for 2011/2012 are in late-April. Ballet had been slow after a hectic Nutcracker season and is now warming up for end of the season performances.

Love that the girls are able to do something that they enjoy and that keeps them active.

This one was taken after the 5th show, the one that our family attended. I can actually say that I saw bits and pieces of each and every show (all 9 of them!) but we only attended one entire show.

 

Party girl! Last year she wore green, this year she got red. We are working our way through the available colors.

 
Party girl hair and a look inside my bathroom. It takes about 90 minutes to do a set of party girl curls. Bai has a ton of hair, thick and long. She grabs a book while I spray and curl. The worst part is that on the days with two shows I have to do curls twice as after the party scene she is a soldier (hair in a knot under a hat) and then a bon bon (hair in slick bun) and the curls are completely brushed out by the time we get to the second show.

 

New bon bon costumes this year! They are adorable, she was so excited to get to be a bon bon again. This was probably her last year to be a bon bon as she is almost too tall to fit under Madame Bon Bon's skirt.

No soldier pictures, she starts off the show as a party girl and then ended the show as a bon bon. The soldier was in the middle and was a quick change costume, no chance for pics unless Chris got them

I got professional pics taken by the wonderful roving photographer. I leave my camera at home and rely on him to capture the moment. If he can't capture it then I sure can't. Bai hates having her pic taken, she grumps and this is what I wind up with:

So, Halloween came and went.

We went to an awesome party. Look at pics...

 
We gobbled for worms...

 

We brutalized poor oranges and grapefruits and made boys wear nylons (the tattoo legged hottie is Tay's soccer coach).

 
The Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland made fun of The Boy when he only ate the Twinkie during a round of Fear Factor and left them to eat the carrot, banana, cottage cheese, pudding, vienna sausages and sardines. That is one smart boy.

Yes, sardines.

I have pictures. I can't post them, everytime I do the smell comes back and I gag. Horribly.

 
And then we had we a ton of fun with friends from the old 'Hood on Halloween. (I totally stole this pic from Cynthia's FB page, thanks CT!).

Now I have 9 pounds of candy and 2 kids who have had $8000 worth of orthodontic work done, ironic isn't it?

 

Bigfoot

This weekend was spent in Snohomish at a soccer tournament. The biggest soccer tournament of the summer to be exact. It was a ton of fun.

The girls played three games starting on Thursday at 9:15 AM. They tied the first, lost the second and won the third. The best part was the camping. We didn't camp but we stayed and bbq'ed with the other '98 team on Friday and then did a pancake breakfast this morning.

Since Bailey didn't want to have to get up at 5 AM she spent the weekend at Nana's house. We have had a house full of soccer player's since Wednesday. I don't mind the girls, but the stinky feet have to go.

After 3 days of 5 AM mornings and friends around the clock the older child has had it...

Okay, we have all had it. Except Bailey...
