Leaving on a Jet Plane

Tim left this morning for a security conference in a much warmer climate. He was supposed to land in Las Vegas about 3 PM, it was supposed to be 87 degrees. I admit to being highly jealous as my ass is stuck here in the 50 degree rain and all around coldness.

He managed to pack all of his stuff in that blue suitcase at his feet. Had he not needed so many hair products he would have been able to carry it on. Oh, wait.

I think he might have been annoyed with the photographer. Sometimes she just won't shut up.

Tim's Inspection

Ashley and Ethan got here on Tuesday and Ethan has been attached to Tim's hip ever since. They have quite the bond, Ethan likes to crawl all over Tim and Tim has more patience than anyone I know.

This afternoon Ethan decided that Tim needed an inspection. Tim and Taylor were playing SSBB on the Wii and Ethan HAD to inspect him.

Top Secret: Project Good Luck Request

As always, whenever Tim's job is involved I can't give you the full story. I can't even give you half of the story. But I can give you a picture of what he looked like when he left this morning and tell you that his typical outfit consists of a pair of Levi's, a comic book t-shirt and a pair of Van's.

Something big is going on today. He isn't stressed but I am. I will keep you posted at least to whether it worked out to his advantage or not. 

His shoes are in the garage but he wore brown Dr. Martens with the outfit, with all those shoes there you would think some would be his. Nope, they are the girls, mine and strangely enough Ashley's.

Am off to school, it's either that or breathe in my trusty old paper bag.   

Tim's Laboratory and Latest Project

Every time I go down to the 1st floor I kind of sigh. Not an overjoyed sigh but an ugh type of sigh.

When we first moved in it was decided that the room off the den could be Tim's laboratory. About a month ago I was given 4 shelves in that room. Stuff had to be rearranged and moved about but I staked my measly claim and was all set to move some of my rubber stamp and baking paraphernalia down there.

Evidently I took too long to do so. My space has been encroached upon. In my defense it took that long because it is still winter here and that room is subterranean and it has been 45 degrees or under during the warmest part of the day and the first floor is easily a good 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. Wearing a parka indoors is not my idea of a good time!

However, I may have been talked into conceding my space for the time being. You see he has come up with this project. Did you all groan out loud and you knees quake with fear like mine did when I heard that? It's not secret that he is a gamer geek*, I say that with the utmost love and affection. He wants a Revenant Titan, now I am sure that you know exactly what that is right? Ha, me either! Go ahead and look here, note that the price isn't bad (ha!) at first glance until you realize that it is in British Pounds (!!) and then there is a 15% fee and shipping, so final out the door and across the water total is, um, erm, just about $398 right now.

Yikes.

He has since decided (meaning I balked at $400 on a doll) that he can build his own. He has been reading forums online of other people scratch-building their own Titans so he is giving it a shot. So far it has cost us $8 for the Manikin (brand spelling, I can spell mannequin, see??) and $40 for a new Dremel but that it a fairly handy item to have around the house so I think it is a safe bet that we can get our money out of that one. If not I will make him cut his toenails with it or something.

   

This is the Manikin, I like to call him Jorge, before we ripped him apart. He is standing amongst partially assembled stuffs and a partially painted Wraithlord, I like to call him Pablo.

*I have been known to enjoy a game or two myself, please don't leave me asshat comments.

Party Weekend

Does massive partying include a lot of sleeping in? No, darn. Then maybe we only did a smidgen of partying.

Tim celebrated his 30th birthday on Saturday. We slept in until at least 7AM when a little blond person promptly popped into our room with an exchange that takes place every weekend morning

Little Blond Person: I'm hungry.

Not Amused Parent: Grab a granola bar, I will be down in a minute.

LBP: Oh, just like always?

NAP: *sigh* Just like always...

LBP: Okay. *skips away humming merrily*

NAP: *lasers shoot from eyes*

Once my eyes stopped smoking and the heathens were fed we did some house stuff. I may have gotten a wild hair up my ass to rearrange the kitchen cabinets. This means that I emptied them all out onto the kitchen floor and then reorganized them back into different locations. Not such a great idea when we were on a schedule but it worked out well and I am much happier with the layout now.

After that we met mom and Petey Poo for a late lunch at a Japanese steak house. It was great. The girls had never been to one before and were quite impressed by the egg rolling and rice sizzling and fast knife chopping. Somehow I can never impress them at home with those skills. The sushi bar was already closed for the late afternoon lull so Tim had to promise to take Bai back for her birthday.

From there we came home for a bit to let our very full tummies settle and then back out we went, to moms for brownies that I made that morning with ice cream and several toppings and presents. What's a birthday without presents?? Tim is darn hard to shop for. Any time he wants something for himself he buys it or talks himself or me out of it. I did manage to snag him a new outfit where only the shirt needs to be returned, I think it was made for a giant. That or mismarked. A case for his gaming stuff, don't ask. You are better off not knowing. And some Frank Miller books.

My mom and Pete won the present competition though. They got him a gift card for his favorite gaming store. I think he may have slept with it with first night and has since moved to faux shopping in their online store to see what he wants to use it on to get the most for his money. It's quite funny to say the least.

Why is it when I set things on fire at home no one oohs and aahs? Maybe I need a job at the Japanese steakhouse?
