Hannah Montana Made Her Vomit
Doesn't that title just make you cringe? I cringed all the way up until 2:40 this morning. Seriously.
Last night was the big night. Ya know, the big night. It started off yesterday morning with Tim and I driving down to Auburn to pick up the tickets while the girls were in school. The theater was empty when we got there so we got our tickets and 3D glasses and were on our merry way.
Oh, did I forget to mention the movie was in 3D? Silly me. Have I ever told you that I get motion sick really bad and that 3D shows affect me the same way? Or that Tay seems to have inherited this wonderful trait as well? Do you see where this is going yet??
Cynthia picked us up about 4:20 and we headed out for the movie, all wonderfully spun up and looking forward to the movie. We got there and stood in line to be seated, with about 100 people in front of us, not so bad considering it was opening night. We got into the theater and it was hilariously packed, except for the second row from the very top, it was mysteriously empty. Completely empty. Not ones to be picky, especially since there were 7 of us, we piled in and got great seats. I then headed out to the concession stand to stock up on nachos for Taylor, a kid's pack for Bailey and a soda for me and Taylor to split. Looking back I now see that was a bad idea.
There must have been 30 minutes worth of previews, it was ridiculous. Then the movie started. We all donned our funky glasses and laughed at each other. The movie itself was very loud, I did forget the earplugs. I packed them, and then managed to leave them laying on the counter. All of the girls with us watched the movie with their hands over their ears during the singing scenes. They stuffed their mouths with popcorn or nachos when it was a backstage scene and the volume was at a much lower decibel.
I read a review of the movie yesterday morning written by a father who had taken his daughter, he commented that he couldn't believe the amount of screaming that took place. Not in the theater, but in the movie from concert goers who were taped. He hit the nail right on the head, oh man. Hannah Montana fans are screamers.
The movie itself was cute. Hannah sang a few songs, Miley sang a few songs, The Jonas Brothers sang a couple of songs. There were backstage moments, scenes with the band, scenes with her dad and mom and scenes with her goofing around. All in all well worth a $17 ticket opposed to a couple hundred dollar concert ticket.
After the movie we headed out to dinner. We tried a few different places and wound up at a local noodle bar, Zao. Once we got seated Tay said she wasn't feeling too well. I pointed out the bathroom to her and then the front door, which happened to be closer than the bathroom. About 2 minutes later I was glad I did. She stood up and headed for the front door, I left Bailey with Cynthia and Laura and followed Tay. I got her out of view of the restaurant where she proceeded to donate her nachos to an out of the way location on the sidewalk near a trashcan, the trashcans have hoods we checked. I thought this was a good spot until I glanced over my shoulder, I was standing behind her holding her hair, and noticed that the steak restaurant behind me has an all glass wall that happens to look out onto the sidewalk. Let's just say I felt really bad at that moment.
My mom wound up coming to get Taylor, and Tay managed to puke in the Nitro on the way home. I may never live that one down. She was up and down until about 2:40 getting those nachos out of her system. My mom swears food poisoning. I disagree completely, it was a combination of unsettled nachos, 3D glasses and dancing in her seat. She is fine now if a bit tired.
Oh, and the 3D effects weren't that bad, they were very basic. They were nothing like a typical Disney show. When I think 3D and Disney I imagine the old Captain EO that used to show at Disneyland or the Bug's Life show at California Adventure. This is nothing like that. I remember a few streamers flying and a guitar pick, nothing truly in your face. The only thing I noticed was my eyes watering off and on. I had a bit of a headache at the very end of the night, but really, can you blame me?
