Me, Me, Me!

Pluses and Minuses

+ We are fully moved in to the new house.

- We have been trying to get a hold of the owners of the last house since the 1st of June and have gotten no response.

- Turn over for the house is supposed to be tomorrow. See above minus.

+ Girls have made friends in the new neighborhood. Taylor is the oldest of the kids so far, next oldest is 7.

+/- We have become the target for the ding dong ditchers in the neighborhood. It is fricking hilarious, so far. I can't wait to catch them in the act. Or figure out where they live and return the favor. Ha! I kinda hope they keep it up so I have something to look forward to.

- I have officially lost my shot at Parent of the Year 2009. Took the girls to the Dr. a couple of weeks ago and mentioned a cough Bailey has had for a while. Thought it was allergy related and wanted recommendations. Ha! She has asthma and I am officially a dumbass. Well, she has allergies too. Oral steroids to clear the wheezing and cough from her chest. Two inhalers daily and Flonase daily for her allergies. Yay...

+ Taylor was declared healthy at that same appointment. That counts for something. Yes?

+ Tim's commute to work has gotten a ton better since we moved closer to the unnamable job. He leaves the house about 25 minutes later than he did at the old house even though we are only about 7 or 8 miles closer, interchanges and traffic.

- My youngest is an emotional mess. I am not sure if it is the new meds or what but I am ready to pull my hair out. She has moments where all she does is cry, she can't tell you why she just cries. We go back to the Dr. on the 22nd if I can't get another appt sooner. I could be bald by then.

Hey, my list came out balanced. Surely that must be a first.

Playing Catch Up

The holidays are over, the girls are back in school and the snow has melted. I guess that means I have to get my ass butt in gear and get my shit act together. Can't I have just one more day to stick my head in the sand?

Please?

Was I supposed to be watching my mouth in 2009? Shit. Shoot.

Mints and Xanax

I am currently sitting at a Periodontists office in, well, I am not sure what city I am in, while my mom gets some dental work done. I am not sure exactly what she is having done I made her stop explaining once she got to the bone graft part. Yikes. I do know that in less than 12 hours she has had 5 prescribed Xanax. It has been a fun morning.

I meant to grab a Fiber One bar on my way out the door this morning but I spaced and it is currently sitting on a shelf in the garage. Since my stomach is rumbling loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear I went rummaging in my purse, King Peppermints it is! Yum!

It is going to be a long morning...

You know it's bad...

You know it's bad when your mom calls and tells you to post so she can have something to read. I tried to send her to Tammie's site but she was already there and laughing about Maddy and Kenna. Nothing interesting has happened this week, nothing that requires it's own post at least.

I went to a Veteran's Day assembly at the girl's school today, they sang and I left my camera at home. But let's face it, if you have been to one assembly you have been to them all. I am such a supportive parent. They did recognize and applaud all of the veterans in the audience, I like to think they were recognizing the spouses too. That part makes me warm and fuzzy.

Tonight the teachers and PTA peeps worked at a local McDonald's for a McTeacher fund-raiser. The kids loved to see the teachers working the register and wiping down tables. Okay, they were also jazzed to eat at McDonald's, it isn't something we normally do.

Oh, and my mom was in a car accident this morning. She is fine, but her Dodge Nitro has a hole in it and I am pretty sure that it wasn't there yesterday. As she was getting off of the freeway on her way to work someone ran a red light and took out the back driver panel of her pretty red SUV. The best part is that the guy who hit her is uninsured, of course. Having insurance would just make things way too easy. She has the worst luck with uninsured motorists, this is her third uninsured accident in 11 years. I can joke that she is the common denominator but she is mad enough she might just kick my ass.

Rain, we have it. Actually it stopped earlier and I am afraid to look out the window but I don't hear it on the spark arrester so maybe it is still dry. Today is the 13th and weather.com says my zip code has gotten 8.07 inches of rain so far. Flooding, we have that too. Welcome to Washington! I love it!

Tonight we wished it would have rained. A house in the development above ours and across the street burned. I haven't seen the house itself but the main street was very smoky and the fire crew was still there when we came in from the McD's thing. As we went past, Taylor pointed out that her friend lives on that street. Her friend lives 3 doors from the burned home.

Okay, so all of that happened today. I guess it was eventful if you put it all together.

Oh, and Mom? Better take some aspirin before bed. You are going to feel it in the morning, trust me.

A Few Things, Now with Bullets!

My brain hurts, no rhyme or reason. Try to follow along:

  • Sephora Friends and Family, ends tomorrow, yikes! You can save 20% online only with code FF2008. My mom and I hit an invitation only event bright and early yesterday morning and $171 later we walked out beautified. Now is the time to stock up. I am happy to say that most of that was hers, but the trial size bins call my name, they are my downfall. Oh, free shipping over $50 is automatically applied, how nice of them.
  • The holiday coffee creamers are out. Peppermint Mocha! It makes my tummy hurt but it tastes so good.
  • Limited Too 30% off, in-store and online. Online use code 758 or e-mail me for a copy of the coupon. The online code will also give you $5 flat rate shipping, have you seen their shipping charges?? Their clothes are already pricey and then you tack on the shipping and yowza! Expires 11/11. Too Bucks and Fun Card time, see website or coupon for info.
  • Justice 25% off, in-store and online. Online use code 757 or pop me an e-mail for a copy of the coupon. This one also gives $5 flat rate shipping, since they are the same brand as Limited Too I can only assume they have high shipping charges. Expires 11/11. J-Bucks and Fun Card time, see website or coupon for info.
  • This is not a shopping website nor will it turn into one but I am trying to get a jump on the holidays and if you are like me those coupons can make a difference on your pocketbook. Or maybe I am just cheap. Or Thrifty, naw, that makes me think of ice cream. But that might be a CA thing and if you aren't from So Cal it might not make any sense. Nevermind.
  • Speaking of jumping on the holidays, yeah, I kind of would like to trounce all over them. Bitches. What do you get for the husband who wants nothing and asks for nothing? Oh, and his birthday is 11 days after Christmas.
  • I am trying to get some work done. I have my headphones on and I can hear my ear drum pounding over the doctor speaking. Think that means I have an ear infection? It kinda hurts.
  • A lot.
  • Crap.

Okay, done whining. Thanks for sticking around. Well, all 2 of you who did. The kids are out of school until Wednesday. What kinda crap is that? Who planned it and didn't ask the parents?? Then the week after they start parent teacher conference on Thursday which mean half-days, yay!

Backposting

So, yeah.

I haven't posted in a few days but will be backposting to fill in for the past week. I hate when I do that. I actually did Recipe Wednesday on time, I just never sat down and posted it. I took pictures all week long, I just never sat down and posted them. There is a bunch of stuff going on, nothing earth shattering, just busy stuff and it all takes precedence over posting here. Next week should be better. I hope.

Blah.

I was framed!

That is such a corny title when I think about it. Then I stop and think about how long I (okay, actually Cynthia and I) have been working on these frames and decide that that the corniness factor really doesn't matter. Neither does the beer* factor.

1 class art project

25 kids x 4 frames per student= 100 frames x 2 due to a template error=  fun all around...

I love Taylor's teacher, however I did ask that in two years when Bailey is at this stage if she could pick a different year end project. Or perhaps we could start this one in September.

*Only one beer was harmed during the making of these frames. I really don't like beer, it took about 3 hours to drink 3/4 of it and then it was warm and got poured out. A lush I am not.

**No comments on the tablecloth. That is my Valentine's Day tablecloth, and yes, I know it clashes with the wall. Everything does. I had a very variegated green one that went with the green diamond *** on the wall (shut it) but it had an accident in the form of Tim and a rotary cutter.

***Why yes, there is a green diamond on that wall. There are in fact, two, a grayish green and a lime green. Whose idea was this? Not mine.

It knows me!

Dsc00074

How wrong is that?

I am sure to those of you who have ever met me in person this comes as no surprise. I have to say it didn't shock me at all, it did make me laugh and Tim almost pissed himself laughing at me.

Duff!

You kind of had to be here to get the joke. I received a new nickname a few weeks ago and as hard as I tried to shake it, it stuck.

Dsc00017

I think this means it is here to stay.

Edit: to those of you who e-mailed to ask No, I am not up the duff or in the pudding club and have no announcements to make.
