You know it's bad when your mom calls and tells you to post so she can have something to read. I tried to send her to Tammie's site but she was already there and laughing about Maddy and Kenna. Nothing interesting has happened this week, nothing that requires it's own post at least.
I went to a Veteran's Day assembly at the girl's school today, they sang and I left my camera at home. But let's face it, if you have been to one assembly you have been to them all. I am such a supportive parent. They did recognize and applaud all of the veterans in the audience, I like to think they were recognizing the spouses too. That part makes me warm and fuzzy.
Tonight the teachers and PTA peeps worked at a local McDonald's for a McTeacher fund-raiser. The kids loved to see the teachers working the register and wiping down tables. Okay, they were also jazzed to eat at McDonald's, it isn't something we normally do.
Oh, and my mom was in a car accident this morning. She is fine, but her Dodge Nitro has a hole in it and I am pretty sure that it wasn't there yesterday. As she was getting off of the freeway on her way to work someone ran a red light and took out the back driver panel of her pretty red SUV. The best part is that the guy who hit her is uninsured, of course. Having insurance would just make things way too easy. She has the worst luck with uninsured motorists, this is her third uninsured accident in 11 years. I can joke that she is the common denominator but she is mad enough she might just kick my ass.
Rain, we have it. Actually it stopped earlier and I am afraid to look out the window but I don't hear it on the spark arrester so maybe it is still dry. Today is the 13th and weather.com says my zip code has gotten 8.07 inches of rain so far. Flooding, we have that too. Welcome to Washington! I love it!
Tonight we wished it would have rained. A house in the development above ours and across the street burned. I haven't seen the house itself but the main street was very smoky and the fire crew was still there when we came in from the McD's thing. As we went past, Taylor pointed out that her friend lives on that street. Her friend lives 3 doors from the burned home.
Okay, so all of that happened today. I guess it was eventful if you put it all together.
Oh, and Mom? Better take some aspirin before bed. You are going to feel it in the morning, trust me.
