Our recent trip to California was too short in some ways and too long in others. It was originally planned as a last minute summer hurrah and morphed into an ill grandfather, a 5 minute visit with Tam and a few days with my dad and stepmom.
The girls and I spent some time with my grandfather, their great-grandfather. It was an eventful visit to say the least. Without going into too many details let's just say it was an interesting day well spent.
That day got even better when the girls and I headed home to my dad's house. Or tried to head home.
Evidently there was a car fire earlier in the day and the clean up crew was still there. The girls and I sat and waited it out, no sense in turning around at that point and I was not sure that I remembered how to detour through Yucaipa in order to get up the mountain in the other direction. This made an interesting stop, keep in mind that it was 98 degrees outside as we sat and waited.
We also spent a day at Disneyland. I haven't been to Disneyland with my dad in at least 20 years, I was pretty happy they had planned that for us while we we there. However, if someone asks me one more time where the water rides are I will smack them with my shoe. Gah!
I like to call that picture Impatience. My stepmom, G, wanted to see the 3:30 parade so we headed to grab a spot at about 3:00. We could only find a bench in the sun, keep in mind it was about 90 degrees outside that day. We waited patiently until about 3:20 when G announced she didn't want to wait anymore. She got outvoted and we waited that last 10 minutes and saw the dang parade.
Yes, I know, the girls and I look like we were adopted. On the surface at least. I discovered just how much of my dad's personality has rubbed off on me during that trip. We are so alike it is scary. SCARY.
While waiting for the parade I noticed the girls taking some pictures of their own. Let's see what we wound up with.
Oh, we have some shoes. The Osiris' are Taylors and the Roxy's are Baileys.

Think they might have been getting bored??
Next we have Taylor's shirt.
Heh, and those are just the ones off of Bailey's camera.
All in all we had a good time. This picture is the best one I got the entire time we were there.
I also discovered that being away from Tim has a serious impact on my attitude. He must have some sort of dispersion bubble technique that he employs when he is around me. My temper was short the entire trip...
