This is bad, right?

When lappy bluescreens and says dumping memory and then you reboot and it comes up and says No Operating System Found, that means you should have backed up all of your photos and files a week or so ago, huh?

Crud...

First and Goal

Oh, wait. That's a different sport altogether.

Taylor had her first soccer game of the Spring season this morning. She is having a great time and would practice every night if she could, I think it's too cold for that and have talked her into sticking to Tuesdays and Thursdays instead.

Right after I took this picture I put away my camera. The Scorpions, Taylor's team, was moving away from their goal so I figured there was no impending camera worthy action. I should have known better, Taylor scored her first goal right after I turned the camera off and stuck it in my purse. She was so excited and maybe a bit surprised.

This is her first season playing against a goal keeper, at one point she was lined up for a goal but the opposing teams goal keeper went after the ball head first. Thankfully, Tay was able to stop kicking just short of her face, yikes!

What a start to the season!

I found it!

The stuff that was missing yesterday?

It showed up today. This was taken while we were walking to the bus stop in the afternoon. It was more slushy at that point but once we got home it started sticking to the grass and plants.

Snow Day, kinda...

Now, I am not exactly an expert on the whole snow day thing but I am fairly certain that when your school district calls for a snow day or a late start due to snow that there should be some white stuff outside.

We got up this morning when the alarm went off at 7 AM. The girls ate breakfast and got dressed. Just like normal.

About 7:30 a neighbor called, one of the other neighbors and fellow parents had heard on the radio that our district called a late start day. Instead of starting school at 8:35 AM the girls started at 10:35 AM. Oh, and since it is parent teacher conference week they were back out at 12:13 PM. So basically they went to school and had recess, then 15 minutes of learning and then it was lunch time and then back home.

Awesome day.

I never did find the white stuff...

Comfort Found

I finished the beans as soon as we came in from soccer practice about 7:45 or so, and Taylor and I dug in while Bailey was taking her sweet time in the shower. They were super yummy!

Comfort Me

With food, of course. Duh.

So, I am still sick. I wish there was some witty comment I could throw in there but I got nothing so let's move on to food. Specifically, comfort food. I haven't eaten much since coming down with the flu and moving on to a head cold that will not stop.

Tim and I had an argument a while back about comfort food. I always think that mine is mashed potatoes, and then when I make them they never quite hit the spot. Sure they taste great, but just not what I am craving. Tim argued that my comfort food is refried beans, I said no way that is just abnormal especially when you are sick. Comfort food is supposed to be something kind of gentle and bland. Rather than argue with me he grabbed his car keys and headed out, he came back about 15 minutes later with a bag from Taco Bell. Fast food refried beans, he told me to eat them and then we would discuss it.

Dumbass was right.

I have 2 1/2 pounds of pinto beans cooking on the stove and a pound of bacon defrosting on the counter, comforting refried yumminess is on it's way!

What's your comfort food?

Easter Egg Hunt, Take Two

Since the average age in our immediate neighborhood is around 70*, the neighborhood right above ours takes pity on us and invites us to their annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The kids got to do crafts first, while continually asking if it was time yet to hunt eggs yet. It amazes me that the kids can clear the yards so fast, we sent the big kids one way and the little kids another and then met back at the start. It took less than 10 minutes start to finish to find about over 400 eggs.

We had no tears and no blood, I think it was a success!

*Okay, the average age is probably not that high but everyone seems so damn stuffy.

Soccer, Season Two

The second season of soccer kicked off with a splash on what had to be the wettest day so far this month. I thought for sure that they would cancel the practice and just hold a short, perhaps indoor, introductory and informative meeting for the parents.

As you can see, I thought wrong.

Roller Derby It Ain't

We headed back to the skating rink for a birthday party this weekend, one of Tay's friends turned 8 on Saturday and we celebrated by busting our asses on hard polished wood and eating sugary sweets. We did have a very good time and we did make some new friends since it was a group of people that we had never met before.

I guarantee you that less than 5 seconds later she fell. She has the bruises to prove it. In fact she fell so many times that she might have bruises for weeks to come.

Can I just say that I am less than pleased with this pic but I promised Ashley that I would post one. Can I just clarify a couple of things? That is not a fricking fat roll! It is just the most unattractive sweater ever! Holy hell, who lets me pick my own clothes?? Also, Washington weather+my wavy hair=Curly. Which I find hilarious and scary, I may have had to call and ask a curly haired friend for help.

Skating was fun but I think they need to hand out bubble wrap pants in the girl's size when you walk in the door. Tim might need a pair of those as well, he fell a handful of times too.
