It has taken me a few days to recover from the early hours and miles walked on Black Friday. I am now ready to recap how we spent the day.
The day began at 3:15AM when I jumped in the shower. Cynthia picked Ashley and I up in her ice covered van at 4:05. From there we headed to Toys R' Us and got in line with the couple of hundred other people already freezing. Tara joined us shortly after we got there. We stood in line for about 45 minutes (did I mention my hair was wet and it was 29 degrees out?? Not my brightest moment.) and then finally got inside at 5AM only to discover they were immediately sold out of the one thing I was after.
Then we went to a new Starbuck's, along with about 75 other people. Changed our minds and went to Kohl's instead, along with about 1,000 other people who were already in line. We browsed and then decided to come back later. We were the first in line at Bath and Body Works and scored some good soap deals and stocking stuffers.
We found another Starbuck's and got breakfast and coffee. And peed. In the mens bathroom. Shorter line. Or no line. But I did get a very odd look and an "oh" from the guy waiting when I came out. Oops.
We went on to explore Pier One, Cost Plus, Target, back to Kohl's, Michael's and the mall and there may have been a stop at a Cheesecake Factory where some Chicken Pesto pizza may have been consumed.
We scored some pretty good deals. Cynthia picked up a coat rack at Pier One marked down 75% off of its normal price. I am not really sure what else we bought, but it was a ton of fun and I am almost done shopping. Cynthia has some more great pictures over at her site.
